Cosmetic Dermatology

Expert skin care starts with expert skin analysis, so every cosmetic dermatology consultation in Soho begins with a comprehensive assessment by an experienced Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner before any skincare or treatment is recommended.

The short answer

What is cosmetic dermatology?

Cosmetic dermatology at Perfectus Derma Aesthetics starts with an in-depth, face-to-face consultation rather than a product shelf. An Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner assesses your skin, takes a proper history and uses our MEICET MC10 skin analysis to understand what is actually driving the pigmentation, redness, congestion or texture change you can see.

From there we build a personalised programme of medical-grade skincare, staged so your skin can adapt, and supported by in-clinic treatments where clinically appropriate. Where a concern needs medical dermatology, this will be discussed openly with you, with prompt referral to your GP or a dermatologist.

Rather than simply treating visible symptoms, our aim is to understand why your skin is behaving the way it is. By identifying the underlying causes, we can recommend skincare and treatments that support healthier skin and deliver long-term improvements.

Patient journey

What to expect from cosmetic dermatology

Consultation & preparation

Come makeup-free if you can, and bring a list or photo of every product you currently use, including anything prescribed. A note of previous reactions, triggers and treatments helps us build the right programme first time.

During treatment

Aftercare

You will leave with a staged, written programme and clear instructions for introducing each product. Expect a review at around 8 to 12 weeks so we can adjust based on how your skin responds. Contact us at any point if a product causes irritation.

FAQs

Do I need to stop using my current skincare?

Not necessarily. During your consultation we will review your current skincare routine and advise which products should be continued, paused or replaced. Our recommendations are always tailored to your individual skin, and we would rather keep something that is working than replace it for the sake of it.

Why is clinic skincare different from products I buy myself?

Professional skincare contains carefully selected active ingredients at strengths that are recommended following a detailed clinical assessment. Rather than following trends or marketing claims, your skincare programme is chosen specifically for your skin condition, which helps deliver more predictable long-term results.

Will I need treatments as well as skincare?

Not always. Some patients achieve excellent improvements using skincare alone, whilst others benefit from combining products with in-clinic treatments such as chemical peels, SkinPen microneedling or LED light therapy. Your practitioner will only ever recommend what is genuinely appropriate for your skin.

How much does cosmetic dermatology cost?

There is no fixed menu price, because no two programmes are the same. Costs depend on your skin condition, your concerns and the products required, and we quote everything clearly after your consultation, before anything is bought. Klarna and Clearpay are available, and programmes can be staged so spending is spread sensibly.

Why use clinic skincare instead of shop-bought products?

Medical-grade ranges such as ZO Skin Health and Noon Skincare use active ingredients at working concentrations, supplied through clinics so someone qualified matches them to your skin and introduces them gradually. That guidance is the real value: most bathroom shelves hold products that clash or duplicate. A staged programme replaces guesswork with a plan.

Can you treat eczema, rosacea or a changing mole?

Not as medical conditions: those belong with your GP or a consultant dermatologist, and a new or changing mole should be checked promptly. What we can do, honestly, is support the cosmetic side alongside your medical care: calming visible redness, supporting a stressed skin barrier and improving tone once your clinician is happy.

Where can I get cosmetic skin advice near me in central London?

Our clinic is at 111 Charing Cross Road in Soho, inside UNTIL Soho, about 5 minutes on foot from Tottenham Court Road and Leicester Square stations. Consultations are face to face, never rushed, and available on weekdays until 7pm and on Saturdays. Book online, or drop us a line and we will help.

How soon will my skin change?

Skin turns over roughly monthly, so give a new programme 8 to 12 weeks before judging it: texture and congestion often settle first, pigmentation shifts more slowly. We usually review around that point, adjust products and add in-clinic treatments if needed. Individual results vary, and we will always tell you what is realistic.
