Microneedling (SkinPen)

The SkinPen Precision device creates temporary, microscopic channels in the skin. Your body reads these as a signal to repair, activating its natural healing response and increasing the production of collagen and elastin: the proteins that keep skin firm, smooth and resilient. The channels vary in depth depending on the area being treated, the condition being targeted and your overall skin health. SkinPen microneedling is best known for acne scarring, and it also improves surgical scars, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks and uneven pigmentation. Numbing cream is applied first, so most patients feel only minimal discomfort. Treatment itself takes 30 to 60 minutes for the face, and up to 90 minutes when the neck, hands or décolletage are included. Afterwards, expect redness and mild swelling similar to a light sunburn for 24 to 72 hours, and skin that feels slightly tight or sensitive for a few days.
