Microneedling (SkinPen)
SkinPen Precision microneedling in Soho, central London: nurse-led collagen induction for acne scarring, uneven texture and enlarged pores, from £220 a session with courses of 3 recommended for most concerns.
The short answer
What this treatment is
Microneedling with the SkinPen Precision device creates thousands of microscopic channels in the skin, switching on your body's own healing response so it builds fresh collagen and elastin. Over a course of sessions, that response gradually softens acne scarring, refines uneven texture and reduces the appearance of enlarged pores. Every treatment is performed by an NMC-registered nurse after a face-to-face consultation, with needle depth adjusted to the area, the concern and your overall skin health. A session takes 30 to 60 minutes, and most concerns respond best to a course of 3 spaced several weeks apart. Expect redness for 24 to 72 hours afterwards. The results build quietly over the months that follow.

Patient journey
What to expect
Consultation & preparation
Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids and self-tan on the area for around 3 days before treatment, and arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Do not book microneedling over sunburn or an active breakout: tell us and we will re-time your session.
During treatment
Aftercare
Redness settles over 24 to 72 hours. Avoid makeup, direct sun, swimming and heavy exercise for the first 24 to 48 hours, then reintroduce your skincare as we advise, with daily SPF throughout your course. We remain contactable after every treatment if you have any concerns.

FAQ
Common
questions
How much does SkinPen microneedling cost?
A single face session is £220, or £600 for a course of 3. Adding the neck, hands or décolletage takes a single session to between £250 and £350. Dedicated acne scar and surgical scar programmes run to 10 sessions at £2,000. Klarna and Clearpay are available, and package pricing is confirmed at consultation.
How many microneedling sessions will I need?
Most texture, pore and general skin quality concerns respond well to a course of 3 sessions spaced several weeks apart. Established acne scarring and surgical scars need more: our dedicated programmes run to 10 sessions, adjusted up or down for the individual. We map out an honest session plan at your consultation before you commit.
Does microneedling hurt?
Not much. Numbing cream is applied before every treatment, and most patients describe the sensation as a light vibration with minimal discomfort. Sensitive areas, such as around the hairline or bony parts of the face, can feel scratchier for a few seconds. Your nurse checks your comfort throughout and adjusts the approach where needed.
What is the downtime after SkinPen microneedling?
Expect redness and mild swelling, similar to a light sunburn, for 24 to 72 hours, and skin that feels tight or sensitive for a few days. Most patients are comfortable being back at work the next day. Avoid direct sun, heavy exercise and makeup at first: we provide full aftercare guidance at your appointment.
When will I see results from microneedling?
Gradually. Collagen remodelling takes time, so texture, tone and fine lines improve over several weeks after each session, with the full picture emerging around 3 to 6 months into a course. Scar programmes build more slowly again. Individual results vary, which is why we review progress between sessions and adjust your plan.
