Exosome Therapy
Exosome therapy applies concentrated regenerative signalling molecules to the skin, usually straight after microneedling, to support repair, calm and recovery while your channels are open.
The short answer
What this treatment is
Exosomes are tiny messengers that cells use to communicate, carrying signals that support repair and renewal. At Perfectus Derma in Soho, we use Purasomes and Secretomes, applied topically to the skin rather than injected, because in the UK exosomes are used as a topical treatment. We usually pair them with SkinPen microneedling: once the tiny channels are created, the exosome serum is applied so it can reach deeper into the skin while it is most receptive. The aim is to support the skin's natural recovery, calm redness after a procedure and enhance the quality of your results. Evidence for exosomes is still emerging, so our nurses use them thoughtfully as part of a wider regenerative plan, always after a face-to-face consultation.

FAQ
Common
questions
Are exosomes injected?
No. In the UK, exosomes are applied topically to the surface of the skin, not injected. We apply them immediately after SkinPen microneedling, so the freshly created channels help them reach deeper into the skin. This approach keeps the treatment gentle while allowing the exosomes to work where recovery is most active.
What can exosome therapy help with?
Exosomes are used to support the skin after microneedling, helping to calm redness and encourage repair while improving overall texture and radiance. They are best thought of as a way to enhance the results of a regenerative treatment plan. Evidence is still emerging, so we use them as a complement, not a standalone fix.
Is there downtime after exosome therapy?
Because exosomes are paired with microneedling, the downtime is the same as microneedling alone. Expect redness and a feeling of warmth, much like mild sunburn, for 24 to 72 hours. Avoid make-up, sun exposure and harsh skincare for the first day or two, and always protect the skin with SPF.
How many exosome sessions will I need?
Most people have a course of three sessions for the clearest improvement in skin quality, though a single session can be a lovely boost before an event. We also offer a regenerative combination with polynucleotides and microneedling. Your nurse recommends the right plan for your skin at your face-to-face consultation.
